Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Community Members;
On behalf of the Board of Education, we invite you to join this important conversation concerning the future of our Westerville City Schools. Through this online “Thoughtexchange,” you will be able to answer some important, open-ended questions that will help shape our facilities plan and the learning environments available to students. You also will be able to consider and rate the thoughts of others who participate in this process.
Discussions about district facilities have been underway since last summer. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the topic before proceeding. You can do so by attending a scheduled community meeting, or by simply reviewing available materials. At a minimum, you will need to be familiar with Facility Committee recommendations before participating. All of this information is available on our website at www.wcsoh.org/timeschange.
Once you are ready to join the Thoughtexchange, you can add and rate thoughts at your own pace until the exchange ends. Be sure to return to review your answers and Discover the results at any time. By participating in this process, your thoughts and ratings will be shared with others, but your identity remains confidential. If you know someone who may wish to participate, we encourage you to forward this invitation to them.
Times change…schools should, too. We thank you in advance for your contributions.

A costume parade will take place at 2:30 PM followed by the class parties from 2:45-3:15 PM. Please be sure you stop by the office and fill out a “Level 1 Volunteer Form” prior to helping with your child’s party if you have not filled one out yet for the 2017-2018 school year. Parking is NOT allowed in the school pick-up lanes so if the parking lot is full, you are welcome to park at the church across the street from RF – just be sure to use the crosswalks and be careful when crossing.
From October 23 through November 8, all Westerville schools will be creating a display of “My Hero” cards as part of Veterans Day activities. For just a $1 donation per card, you can honor your personal military heroes and have their names as part of this display. Funds raised will help sponsor the USO’s “5K Run/Walk for Heroes,” held in Westerville each May as part of Memorial Day weekend.
Thank you Robert Frost Families for sending in money for the Walk-a-Thon! We had a good day but we are just under halfway toward reaching our goal so we need to “keep swimming” together toward our Dunk Tank goal!!
On Monday, for every $10 you bring in you will be entered to win the prize of the day which is a party for 20 GUESTS at Recreations Unlimited!! And the classroom that brings in the most money on Monday will win a popcorn party as well!
Remember for each $10 your child brings in for the entire contest they will be given a ticket to vote on the teacher they would like to see get dunked as well!! And, for every $20 your child brings in they will be given a ball to toss at the dunk tank bullseye!! So send in your clams and we’ll have some fun together!!
